Engine air filters stop airborne dust reaching the cylinders. This matters more than it sounds: abrasive dust drawn through the intake scores bores, rings and turbocharger components, and that damage is cumulative and permanent. A filter that looks dirty is often still working correctly, as the dust layer itself adds to the filtration; the point to change it is measured by restriction, not by appearance.

The range covers primary elements, which do the main filtration, and safety elements, which sit inboard and protect the engine while the primary is being changed. Sealing style also differs: radial seal elements seal on the inside diameter against the housing, axial seal elements clamp between the cover and the base.
