Donaldson Crankcase Ventilation Filters

Crankcase ventilation filters deal with blow-by: the combustion gases that get past the piston rings into the crankcase, carrying a fine oil mist with them. Those gases have to be vented, and on a closed system they are routed back to the intake. Without coalescing that oil mist out first, it ends up coating the turbocharger compressor, the charge air cooler and the intake tract.

These elements work by coalescing rather than by straining, so the oil collects and drains back to the sump instead of being carried through. A blocked element raises crankcase pressure, which shows up as oil leaks at seals that were previously dry. Search by Donaldson part number, or enter the number from the element you are replacing.
