Coalescing filters remove oil and water aerosols from compressed air - droplets too fine to be caught by a conventional particulate filter or dropped out by a receiver. They work by making those droplets merge until they are heavy enough to drain away, which is why they are rated by the oil carryover they permit downstream rather than by particle size alone.
They are used where compressed air reaches something that cannot tolerate oil carryover: instrumentation, pneumatic controls, paint finishing and air that contacts product. Elements are specific to the housing they sit in. Search by Donaldson part number, or give us the housing details and the number on the existing element.
