Donaldson Lube Filters

Lube filters remove wear metals, soot and carbon from engine oil so that circulating debris does not accelerate wear on bearings, journals and the valve train. They work under real constraints: oil must keep flowing even when the filter is loaded or the oil is cold and thick, which is why most carry a bypass valve that opens rather than starve the engine. That is also why a filter left in far beyond its interval quietly stops filtering rather than stopping flow.

Full-flow filters take the entire pump output; bypass filters take a small proportion and clean it much more finely. Some engines use both. Search by Donaldson part number, or enter the number from the filter currently fitted and it will be matched against the cross-references held on each product.
