Donaldson Pre-Cleaners

Pre-cleaners sit ahead of the air cleaner and take out the coarse, heavy dust before it ever reaches the filter element. They work by spinning the incoming air so that heavier particles are thrown outward and ejected, either continuously or into a collector bowl that is emptied periodically. Nothing is consumed in the process, so a pre-cleaner keeps working as long as it is kept clear.

On machines working in genuinely dusty conditions - quarrying, demolition, harvesting, site work in dry weather - a pre-cleaner can extend element life substantially and reduce how often the air cleaner has to be opened at all.
