Donaldson Air Oil Separators

Air oil separators recover lubricating oil from the compressed air stream in rotary screw compressors. In these machines oil is injected into the air end to seal, cool and lubricate, so the air leaving it is carrying oil that has to be taken back out - both to keep the air clean and to return the oil to the system. The separator element does this by coalescing fine oil droplets until they are heavy enough to drain back.

A separator approaching the end of its life shows up as rising pressure drop across the element and increasing oil carryover downstream. Elements are specific to the compressor model and to the vessel they sit in. Search by Donaldson part number, or give us the compressor make, model and the number on the existing element.
